Great Bend, KS -
The Larks were slated to face off with #6 Barton County Community College last Saturday, October 5, but due to bad weather the game was moved to Sunday. The weather and field conditions played a huge factor into the games final as the Larks fell to Barton 16-0. This loss brings their record to (5-8, 1-6), and they will look to avenge this loss on Wednesday, October 9 at 5:00 pm as they take on the Bethany College JV at Sieber Field. Out of the gates, nothing went the right way for the Larks as they allowed the first goal of the match in just 59 seconds. At the end of the first half, Hesston trailed by a score of 7-0, and the second half they were unable to get things going as they allowed 9 more goals. The Larks had a couple of opportunities to score when Itallo da Silvas Dias (Fr. Matias Barbosa, Brazil) made his way around the defenders and took a shot that barely missed the back net. They had another chance when
Spencer Steinhoff (Fr. Wichita, KS) had an open shot, but missed it just over the goal. The Larks will look to get back on track this Wednesday in their non-conference match-up.
