The Larks faced off with Coffeyville CC at Bess Mullet Field and took the series sweep as they won both games on the night. The Larks record finished at (9-11, 2-0) on the season after the rest of the spring season was canceled by the NJCAA due to COVID-19. Â
Game 1 Recap
In game 1 the Larks DOMINATED from the first pitch as they defeated the Red Ravens 11-0 in a five inning run rule.Â
Anyssa Aguilar got it going for the Larks as she doubled home a run to put the Larks up 1-0.Â
Marissa Harrison then added a double of her home bringing home another run as they went up 2-0. In the second inning,
Marissa Harrison added her second double of the game and brought home two runs to put the Larks up 4-0.Â
Bailey Hollinger added an RBI to put them up 5-0 after a ground-out. In the third inning the Larks added five more runs to go up 9-0, thanks to a couple of RBI singles by
Jessie Miranda and
Chelsea Smith. The Larks would go on to take the game 11-0 in a run-rule victory.Â
Chelsea Smith got the start in the circle for the Larks as she finished the game with a complete game 2-hit shutout and finished with 10 strikeouts. Â
Game 2 Recap
The Larks continued their dominance in game 2 as they defeated the Red Ravens 11-5 giving them the sweep on the day. Hesston would not let up after game one on Coffeyville as they had an astonishing 18 hits on the game accounting for their 11 runs.Â
Amy Bretado had a monster game as she went 3-4 with 3 RBI's including a solo home-run.Â
Jessie Miranda also had a big game as she went 3-4 with 2 RBI's and had a double and a triple.Â
Chelsea Smith got the start in game 2 in the circle and had another complete game win as she racked up 6 strikeouts. Â
