Hesston, KS -

The Larks faced off with (RV) Cowley County this afternoon at The Bess, where they would split the series as Cowley took game one 6-2, and the Larks took game two 7-5.  The Larks currently hold a record of (10-6, 2-2) on the season.

GAME 1

In game one, the Larks would fall to the Tigers by a score of 6-2.  Both of the Larks runs came on back-to-back home runs in the third inning when Kimberlin Hopson and Mariah Gilmartin both crushed the ball over the fence.  Jessie Miranda stole her 27th base of the season in the bottom of the first inning as she remains perfect on stolen bases this season.  Natalie Fischer got the start in the circle for Hesston as she went 5 2/3 innings, while giving up 6 runs and took the loss in the contest.

GAME 2

Game two showed a lot of adversity for the Larks as they battled back from down a run in the bottom of the seventh with two outs to come back and win the game.  In the bottom of the seventh the Larks would get a runner on base after Olivia Nava doubled to left field.  Alexis Silvey came up to the plate with two outs as Olivia Nava stood at third base, Silvey crushed a line drive past the third basemen as the Larks would tie the game up at 5-5.  The very next hitter was Kimberlin Hopson, and she would would call game as she crushed a 2-run walk-off home run over the center field fence as the Larks defeated (RV) Cowley County 7-5.  To see Kimberlin Hopson's HR click HERE.  Teri Stanton would get the start in the circle for the Larks as she would throw a complete game and get her fifth win of the season.  Marissa Harrison also hit her fourth home run of the season when she crushed it to left field for the 2-run home run.
