The Larks faced off with (RV) Cowley County this afternoon at The Bess, where they would split the series as Cowley took game one 6-2, and the Larks took game two 7-5. Â The Larks currently hold a record of (10-6, 2-2) on the season. Â
GAME 1
In game one, the Larks would fall to the Tigers by a score of 6-2. Â Both of the Larks runs came on back-to-back home runs in the third inning when
Kimberlin Hopson and
Mariah Gilmartin both crushed the ball over the fence. Â
Jessie Miranda stole her 27th base of the season in the bottom of the first inning as she remains perfect on stolen bases this season. Â
Natalie Fischer got the start in the circle for Hesston as she went 5 2/3 innings, while giving up 6 runs and took the loss in the contest. Â
GAME 2
Game two showed a lot of adversity for the Larks as they battled back from down a run in the bottom of the seventh with two outs to come back and win the game. Â In the bottom of the seventh the Larks would get a runner on base after
Olivia Nava doubled to left field. Â
Alexis Silvey came up to the plate with two outs as
Olivia Nava stood at third base, Silvey crushed a line drive past the third basemen as the Larks would tie the game up at 5-5. Â The very next hitter was
Kimberlin Hopson, and she would would call game as she crushed a 2-run walk-off home run over the center field fence as the Larks defeated (RV) Cowley County 7-5. Â To see

Teri Stanton would get the start in the circle for the Larks as she would throw a complete game and get her fifth win of the season. Â
Marissa Harrison also hit her fourth home run of the season when she crushed it to left field for the 2-run home run. Â
