Hesston, KS -
The Larks hosted Dodge City CC on Sunday afternoon at The Bess, where they would split the series with the Conqs as they won game one 10-8 and lost game two 11-2. This split brings the Larks record to 6-2 on the season.
Game 1
The Larks found themselves down early 3-0 after the top of the first inning, but they quickly took the lead back in the bottom half as they scored four runs Hesston would go on to add five more runs in the fourth inning and one in the fifth inning, as they secured the 10-8 victory.
Marissa Harrison had a huge game as she went 3-4 with 4 RBI and a double. Alexis Silvety went 2-5 including an inside the park home run as she beat the shift, hitting it down the right field line.
Emily DeMartino got the win for the Larks as she came in relief of starter
Teri Stanton. Emily went 5 2/3 innings as she gave up 4 earned runs on 2 walks and 1 strikeout.
Game 2
Game two would go in favor of Dodge City as the Larks were unable to get much going as they fell in 5 innings 11-2.
Alexis Silvey went 2-3 in game two, scoring the Larks only two runs of the game.
Kimberlin Hopson drove in a run for the Larks as she crushed a double, as she scored
Alexis Silvey.
Natalie Fischer would get the start in the circle for the Larks as she took the loss after going 1 1/3 innings giving up 5 earned runs.
