The Larks hosted the Broncbusters last night on the pitch and were able to come away with a shutout win 3-0. This win extends the Larks winning streak to three games and brings their overall season record to (4-1, 2-0).
Both teams were unable to get the ball in the net in the first half as the score remained tied 0-0 after 45 minutes of play. In the second half the Larks went on a terror scoring the ball as they scored their first goal in the 58th minute as
Baldo Moreno got one past the keeper after the assist by
Lusanda Nyathi to give them the 1-0 advantage. In the 68th minute, the Larks added to their lead when
Lusanda Nyathi scored his first goal of the season as it gave Hesston the 2-0 lead. With just minutes left in the game,
Ryusei Ogawa added the dagger goal to give the Larks a 3-0 advantage after another assist by
Lusanda Nyathi. The Larks would go on to finish the game out and take the 3-0 victory.
Tanner Unruh got the start for the Larks in the goal and pitched a shutout while recording 5 saves.
Hesston will be back in action on Saturday evening at 7:30 PM as they face off with Allen County CC at Sieber Field. We will honor the sophomores after the ending of the women's game.
