Ramirez Hat Trick Leads Larks to Victory

Hesston, KS -

The Larks hosted Bethany College JV last night on our "Pool Party" theme night, and the Larks put on quite a show for the fans as they came away with a dominating 6-0 win.

In the first half, the Larks got on the board early as Armando Ramirez shot one past the goalie on an assist by Ryusei Ogawa to put the Larks up 1-0 in the 12th minute.  In the 34th minute, Ramirez knocked in his second goal of the game after a nice assist by Basia Moeti to give the Larks a 2-0 lead.  Just 5 minutes later in the 39th minute the Larks added another goal, this time by Lusanda Nyathi after an assist by Treston Carlson as they led 3-0 going into the half.

The second half looked a whole lot like the first half for the Larks as in the 50th minute, Armando scored his third goal of the game to record a hat trick after another assist by Ogawa to put the Larks up 4-0.  Two minutes later, Treston Carlson knocked in another goal for the Larks this time assisted by Nyathi as he returned the favor on his goal earlier in the game.  Hesston led 5-0 going into the 60th minute as Ethan Presas lined up for a PK attempt and score the Larks 6th goal of the game and the first goal in his collegiate career.  They would go on to defeat the Swedes 6-0, and move their season record to 2-0-1.

Ramirez now has 4 goals this season as they have all came in the Larks last two games played.  Aidan McGonagle finished with 3 saves in 50:00 minutes played.  Andrew Foltz made his collegiate debut as he recorded 2 saves in 40:00 minutes played.

Hesston will be back in action on Tuesday, August 31 at 7:30 PM as they host Tabor College.
