Men's Soccer looked to keep up their hot start to the season as they hosted Southeast CC last night at Sieber Field. Hesston comes into this match looking to go 2-0 in conference after defeating Central CC earlier in the week.
In the 23rd minute of the match, the Larks got on the board first when
Mohammed Bushra scored on an assist by
Adrian Muhabuki to give them a 1-0 lead. Going into halftime the score would remain at 1-0 as
Aidan McGonagle shut the Storm down and recorded 3 saves.
The score remained 1-0 until the 83rd minute when the Larks got on the board again when
Isaac Troyer scored on a header after a beautiful corner kick from
Patrick Uwimana as the Larks extended their lead to 2-0. In the 89th minute the Larks added some cushion to their lead when
Abwe Abandelwa had an amazing strike from about 40 yards out that would roll into the goal, after a great pass from
Armando Ramirez to allow Hesston to take the match 3-0. McGonagle finished with a season high 10 saves and pitched his second straight shutout in the goal.
The Larks will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Allen CC for a huge conference match as they look to stay undefeated.
