Game 1: Freshman Hannah Williams had her best outing of the season on the mound, going the full seven innings and only giving up 3 runs. Unfortunately the offense did not have the same success. The Larks were able to scrap by one run in the third and seventh but that was all. Freshman Madison Rosales had two doubles and a run batted in. The other run was brought in by freshmen Katie Alaniz who had a single hit. The Thresher pitching ended up being too tough, only allowing four hits and the Larks lost 3-2 in the first game of the doubleheader.
Game 2: The offense picked up the pace for Hesston in this one, combining for six runs on six hits. The most important of those being Teri Stanton's one run walk-off triple to end the game. The matchup ended after six innings due to windchill rules. Reese Peterson chipped in two hits, one run and a walk. Madison McCage also had a hit, run, and run batted in of her own. The win brings the Larks to 7-9 on the young season. They will have a bit of a break before playing next Thursday vs. Coffeyville CC here in Hesston at 1 and 3pm.
