Game 1:  Hesston College Larks effort to come back from down five runs in the seventh inning came up just short, as they fell 5-4 to Independence Community College on Saturday.  The Larks scored four runs in the failed comeback on an error, a walk by Candace Durney, and a walk by Madison Walton.

In the first inning, Independence got their offense started when Buckley grounded out, scoring one run.

Buckley got the start on the mound for Indy allowing three hits and four runs over six and two-thirds innings, while striking out eight.

Teri Stanton was in the circle for Hesston. The righthander allowed six hits and five runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking one.

Walton, Madison Rosales, and Mariah Gilmartin all had one hit to lead Hesston.

Keeling led Independence Community College with three hits in four at bats.

Game 2: Hesston College grabbed the lead late in the game in a 10-2 victory over Independence Community College on Saturday in game two. The game was tied at two with the Larks batting in the bottom of the fourth when an error scored one run to take the lead.

Hesston rallied for five runs in the fifth inning.  The offensive onslaught came from a home run by Madyson McCage and a double by Mariah Gilmartin.

Hannah Williams was in the pitcher's circle for Hesston. Williams went five innings, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out six.

The Larks collected nine hits in the game. Gilmartin and McCage each had multiple of their own.
