Wichita, Kan -  The Larks traveled to Wichita on Tuesday to play the NCAA Division II Newman University Jets and had the game tied 2-2 at halftime. Goals for Hesston were scored by freshman Sakuya Futakuchi in the 26th minute and freshman Jordan Richer to tie the game in the 42nd minute. Both of these goals were each their fourth of the season. Newman was awarded a penalty kick in the 77th minute, and was able to take the lead and hold till the end for the win. 

It is a great step forward for the team to be tied 2-2 against a NCAA DII squad as late as the 70th minute. Hesston will certainly take a positive from this matchup as they prepare for next season. The Larks currently have 14 freshmen on the roster and will look to grow off the five win season. 

This game was moved from Newman University to Stryker Sports Complex due to heavy rain during the day. 

Turning Point

 At halftime the game was tied 2-2. The Larks defense had withstood many shots on goal with freshman goalie Luis Jimenez saving eight over the course of the game. Luis finishes the year as the #1 saves leader in the nation at NJCAA DII with 190.
