MCPHERSON, Kan. — The Hesston College men's golf team turned in a strong performance at the Central Kansas Classic, finishing second in the team standings while placing several golfers among the tournament's top finishers.
Caleb Troyer took down the individual championship at 5-over par. Troyer opened the tournament at 8-over before shooting an even-par round and closing with a 3-under final round.
Kory Meireis was the next Hesston finisher, tying for sixth at 11-over par. Meireis carded rounds of 3-over, 6-over and 2-over. Hugo Von Sicard tied for eighth at 13-over, highlighted by a 2-over opening round, while Loic Goethals finished tied for 12th at 16-over after rounds of 9-over, 8-over and 1-under.
Vilde Dahlberg also competed for the Hesston A team, tying for 28th at 26-over par.
Hesston's B team finished fifth, led by Aaron Hartman, who tied for 14th at 17-over par. Robin Ojde tied for 19th at 20-over, while Max Laser Edin tied for 28th at 26-over. Ryan Ziesch finished tied for 34th at 28-over, and Sondre Einarsrud placed 45th at 38-over.
The Hesston C team placed seventh. Kooper Williams tied for 19th at 20-over, followed by Max Albertsson in a tie for 21st at 23-over and Ayden Garcia in a tie for 28th at 26-over. Hugo Soubran finished 38th at 30-over, while Oakley Ritter placed 50th at 51-over.
Brandon Carter competed as an individual for Hesston and tied for 23rd at 24-over par.
