Mitchell Margaris

Mitchell Margaris was named the first head esports coach in Hesston College history in January 2024.

A native of Kelso, Wash., Margaris attended Grays Harbor (Wash.) College where he majored in teacher education and played two years of baseball. At Grays Harbor, Mitch served as a coach for the baseball, men’s basketball and volleyball teams before taking over as the head esports coach. With Margaris at the helm, Grays Harbor appeared in the national esports tournament five times and placed participants in multiple games including a national championship in Rocket League. Before his coaching career, Margaris worked in marketing for the Seattle Mariners for five years.

Mitch and his wife, Mercedes, live in Hesston with their daughter, Marlee.
