Hesston, KS -
The Larks faced off will Dodge City Community College last night and fell in a hard fought match by a score of 2-1 in 2OT. This match was their final home game of the season, and was the sophomore's final home game for their careers. Hesston rocked their pink jersey's as they showed their support for breast cancer. Dodge City got on the board first when Sophia Martinez shot one past
Den Morita ( FR. Shiomidi, Japan) to put the Conqs up 1-0 in the 13th minute. Both teams would show steller defense for the rest of the half as the score was 1-0 in favor of the Conqs heading into the second half. The beginning of the second half was delayed a few minutes, as a dog came onto the field to show off her soccer dribbling skills. The dog must have been a good luck charm for the Larks as they would go on and score just 50 seconds later as
Annalys Hanna (FR Fraser, Colo.) passed the ball over to
Paige Myers (FR Windfall, Ind.) and she knocked it into the back of the net to tie the score at 1-1. This match showed many good defensive moments as the teams stayed tied 1-1 going into the second overtime. Dodge City was able to barely squeak the ball past
Den Morita in the 105th minute to give the Conqs a 2-1 victory. The Larks now prepare for their season finale on Saturday, October 19 against Pratt CC at 1pm in Pratt, Kansas.
