The Larks faced off with the Cougars of Barton County on Sunday, October 6 in Great Bend, Kansas, where they fell by a score of 6-2.  The Larks got on the board early when Annalys Hanna (Fr. Fraser, Colo.) went past the defenders after a beautiful pass from Den Morita (Fr. Shiomidi, Japan) and scored in the 5th minute to make it 1-0.  Barton added the next three goals of the half, as they lead 3-1 at the end of the first.  Hesston got on the board first in the second half, when Paige Myers (Fr. Windfall, Ind.) added her first goal of the season in the 59th minute, and brought the score to 3-2.  Barton would go on to add three more goals between the 70th minute and 72nd minute, which put the Larks in a hole that they couldn't dig themselves out of.  This loss brings their record to (3-7, 2-6) on the season, they will now set their sights on trying to upset a top ranked team in the nation in Hutchinson Community College on Wednesday, October 9 at 7:00 pm.
