Women's Basketball Falls in Roughrider Classic

Neosho, MO -

The Larks competed in the Roughrider Classic last weekend, hosted by Crowder College in Neosho, Missouri.  They faced off with Coffeyville Community College on Friday, and with Crowder College on Saturday.



Hesston vs. Coffeyville CC Notes

The Larks faced off with Coffeyville CC on Friday night in Neosho, MO where they would fall by a score of 89-33, bringing their record to 0-6 on the season.  The Larks struggled in this game to get much going offensively as they could only score 33 points on the night.  They committed 21 turnovers in the game which ultimately led to most of Coffeyville's points.  Destiny Kessay (Fr. McNary, Ariz.) led the way for the Larks as she scored 10 points on 3-8 shooting from the field.  Sydney Bontrager (Fr. Milford, Neb.) grabbed 9 rebounds on the night for the Larks which was a team high.

Hesston vs. Crowder Notes

The Larks faced off with Crowder College Saturday afternoon where they would fall by a score of 68-46, bringing their record to 0-7 on the season.  Hesston had a great showing on the defense side of the ball despite the outcome of the game.  They were down by 24 points in the fourth quarter, and put up a great fight as they cut the lead down to 12 before Crowder added a couple of three's to put the game away.  Destiny Kessay (Fr. McNary, Ariz.) had another double digit performance scoring as she had 15 points on 3-6 shooting from the three point line.  Parris Rawls (So. McKinney, Texas) also had a great game scoring as she added 11 points on 4-6 shooting from the field.  Sydney Bontrager almost had a double-double in rebounds and blocks as she had 15 rebounds and 8 blocks on the night.

What's Next

The Larks head west to Hutchinson Community College on Tuesday, November 12 at 5:30 PM for a non-conference match-up with Hutchinson CC.
