Box Score Hesston, KS -
Monday night the Lark men took on the reserves from Tabor College in their home opener. It would also prove to be the Larks first win of the season.
The Larks controlled the ball for most of the first half, taking 13 shots to Tabors 6. Although most of the Hesston's shots were off target they were able to put the pressure on and keep their foot down. The Larks were also able to double the Bluejays corners in the first half taking 4 to their 2.
In the second half the Larks continued to dominate the ball. They tallied 17 shots to Tabors 4. All of the scoring in this match came in the second half with the Bluejays striking first on a ball from #15 Brayden Oliver that slipped through the finger tips of goalkeeper
Tanner Unruh. The Larks were able to bring it back even in the 62nd minute on a goal from
Jacob Mojica assisted by Luis Carraccioli. The two sides would battle back and forth with neither being able to capitalize on opportunities. The Larks again had most of the possession in the second half.
In overtime, it took the Larks three and a half minutes for the golden goal finisher.
Jacob Boller put the ball into the box to
Tanner Anderson who found the back of the net to seal the win for the Larks.
The Larks will take on the Bethany College Reserves on Thursday, August 29, at Sieber Field at 7:00 PM as they try to build on a game where they mostly dominated and seemed to have found their identity.
