Box Score Hesston, KS - Thursday night the Larks took to the pitch to take on the Bethany Swede Reserves. This night would prove to be a good one for the Larks as they net six goals by six different players. This is the second straight game the Larks have taken over thirty shots while holding their opponent to just ten.
The Larks got the scoring started early in the first half with an eighth minute goal by
Luis Caraccioli, assisted by
Jacob Mojica.
Baldo Moreno added the second goal for the Larks just seven minutes later, also assisted by Mojica. Twelve minutes later the Swedes would net a ball cutting the Larks lead in half. Mojica would finally get a goal of his own in the thirty-second minute to extend the larks lead.
The second half would prove to be a mirror image of the first. The Larks strike for two goals before the Swedes get one. The first coming off the foot of
Itallo da Silva Dias in the sixty-forth minute. Seven minutes later Chandlar Blanchard would finish off of a rebounded shot from teammate
Jacob Boller. This goal would extend the lead to 5-1. The Swedes would then get their goal of the half just four minutes later. To finish the scoring for the night
Benny Thawng finished a ball that rattled around in the box.Â
"It was great to have six different freshman get on the score sheet" said Head Coach Matt Gerlach. "We put into place things we have been doing on the training ground for the last week and the speed of play and movement of the ball was much better. We are excited to test ourselves against some nationally ranked competition in the upcoming weeks."
The Larks look to continue to build on their last two games as they look forward to their first KJCCCÂ matchup of the season next Wednesday, September 4 at 7:30 PM against Cloud County CC.
