The Larks opened up their KJCCC season versus a tough opponent in Cloud County CC and fell by a score of 5-1. The Larks started off slow in the first half by allowing three goals to make it 3-0 going into the second half. The second half began with a nice bang for the Larks as
Tanner Anderson scored on a header, that was assisted by
Jacob Boller in the 59th minute. The Larks showed a lot of fight in this game, but were unable to pull off a victory with the final score being 5-1 in favor of Cloud CC. After the game Head Coach Matt Gerlach said, "I thought we worked hard and put into practice much of what we knew could get us a result. They're an excellent team, but we had a chance to compete. If we do some things a little differently the game certainly looks a lot different". The Larks have a quick turnaround as the begin prep for their next match on Saturday, September 7th at 5:30 pm versus Southwestern College Reserves.
