The Larks traveled to El Dorado on Friday to compete in the Butler CC Triangular, were they fell in both matches. The Larks took on McCook CC and Butler CC both were non-conference match-ups.
McCook CC Vs. Hesston Notes
Their first match took place against McCook Community College, falling (3-1) by the following scores (25-19, 10-25, 17-25, 22-25). The Larks started off hot in the first set by winning convincingly, but they were unable to carry it over to the rest of the match.
Tannah Tilley lead the way for the Larks in kills with 9. This loss brought the Larks record versus McCook this season to (0-2) and overall record to (4-6) on the season.
Butler CC Vs. Hesston Notes
The Larks second match of the day was against Butler Community College were they fell (3-0) by the following scores (24-26, 15-25, 13-25). The Larks played the first set, well but they were unable to hang on for the win. Butler CC carried that momentum over in the final two sets to earn the sweep of the match.
Paulina Diaz,
MacKenzie Mordecai, and
Maddy Ward lead the Larks with 5 kills each. This loss puts the Larks overall record at (5-6) on the season.
Head Coach
Casey Cole said, "We had many moments of greatness today, but unfortunately they were just moments, as we struggled to stay consistent. These were both tough losses because we all knew we could have done better. However, we will not waste these losses, we will learn, grow, and continue to get better together".
The Larks will look to get back to .500 on the season at home on Wednesday, September 11th at 6:30 pm in Yost Gymnasium. This match will be their second KJCCC match of the year as they take on the reigning National Champions Coffeyville Community College.
