Maple & Kuhn Give Larks Second Win

Dallas, TX -

The Larks headed south last weekend for a four game series with Mountain View College in Dallas, Texas.  They went 1-3 on the weekend which brought their overall record to 2-3 on the season, as they get ready for their next opponent on Saturday at home.  


Game 1 Recap

The Larks were defeated by Mountain View College in game 1 by a score of 19-3, Shoei Imazumi (Fr. Ota, JPN) recorded the loss after going 3 innings and giving up 8 runs and 5 earned runs.  Sean Maple (Fr. South Australia, Aus.) led the way for the Larks as he had a homerun and 3 RBI's.  This loss brought the Larks overall record to 1-1 on the season.


Game 2 Recap 

Hesston fell in game 2 with MVC as they were defeated by a score of 11-9, brining their record to 1-2 on the season.  The Larks were able to get the bats going in this game as they had 8 base hits with 7 of them being extra base hits.  Kauy Kuhn (Fr. Cheney, Kan.) hit his first career homerun in a Larks uniform and added 2 RBI's.  Hesston had 5 doubles as a team and also accounted for 9 RBI's in this game.  Easton Unruh (Fr. El Dorado, Kan.) started the game for Hesston on the mound as he went 2 innings and gave up 4 earned runs, but was given the loss in this game.


Game 3 Recap

The Larks won their first game in this series with MVC as they won by a score of 14-9, bringing their record to 2-2 on the season and getting back to .500 overall.  Dane Milburn (So. Lincoln, Neb.) got the start of the Larks and he went 4.1 innings giving up 5 earned runs and recorded his first win on the season.  Ian Lecki  (So. Overland Park, Kan.) went 2.2 innings in relief and recorded 2 strikeouts.  Kauy Kuhn had another big game as he had 1 hit and 4 RBI's which led the Larks in that category.  


Game 4 Recap

Hesston fell in game four of this series by a score of 6-2, bringing their record to 2-3 on the season.  Dalton Woody (So. Cibolo, Texas) got the start for the Larks as he went 3 innings and gave up 3 runs as he fell to 0-1 on the season.  Cayden Diccion (Fr. Piedmont, Okla.) had another great game in relief as he had another clean inning as he kept his season era at zero.
