Great Bend, KS -

The Larks faced off in a triangular with Otero JC and Barton County CC on Saturday afternoon where they would fall in both games by the scores: 6-3 (GM1) & 6-4 (GM2).  These losses brought the Larks record to 0-4 on the season.


Game 1 Notes 

The Larks started Chelsea Smith (So. Tacoma, Wash.) in the circle as she would go a complete game with twelve strikeouts, but record the loss as she gave up six earned runs.  Chelsea did show some power on the offensive side as she blasted a solo homerun for her first homerun of the season.  Anyssa Aguilar (So. Hacienda Heights, Calif.) went 2-4 on the day with one extra base hit which was a double.  Hesston would fall in this game by a score 6-3.


Game 2 Notes 

The Larks faced off with the Cougars in a back-and-forth battle in the second game of the day.  Amy Bretado (So. Whittier, Calif.) got the start in the circle as she went three innings with two strikeouts, but recorded the loss as she gave up four earned runs on five hits.  Anyssa Aguilar had another great game as she went 2-4 with a double and a RBI.  Marissa Harrison (Fr, Mountain Park, Okla.) went 1-3 with a RBI and a run scored.  The Larks were unable to hold of the Cougars in the early half the game as Barton would secure the victory 6-4.
