Power Surge Leads Larks to Victory

Bartlesville, Okla. -

The Larks faced off in a doubleheader match-up with OKWU on the road as they swept the series by the scores: 11-3 (GM1) & 13-1 (GM2).  These wins gave the Larks their first two wins of the season as their record now sits at 2-4.  


Game 1 Notes

The Larks dominated the Eagles in game 1 as they recorded twenty hits as a team and put up eleven runs.  Chelsea Smith (So. Tacoma, Wash.) got the start in the circle as she went a complete game with twelve strikeouts and secured her first win of the season.  Alexis Silvey (Fr. Colorado Springs, Colo.) had a best game thus far in her freshman campaign as she went 2-5 with two extra base hits which were a double and triple, she also had six RBI's.  The Larks went on to win their first game this season by a score of 11-3.


Game 2 Notes

The Larks power surge continued over to game 2 as the recorded fifteen hits while scoring thirteen runs.  Amy Bretado (So. Whittier, Calif.) would go a complete game while only giving up one earned run in her first win of the season.  Paige Bittle (So. Folsom, Calif.) went 3-3 as she had a huge homerun and had 2 RBI's on the game.  Marissa Harrison (Fr. Mountain Park, Okla.) went 2-3 with a double and an RBI.  The Larks would go on to run rule the Eagles in five innings as they won 13-1.
