The Larks opened their season yesterday afternoon against Bethany College JV and they came out on top in 7 innings by a score of 11-5. Game 2 of this match-up was canceled due to below freezing temperatures. The Larks moved to 1-0 on the season as they begin preparing for their road trip on February 7-8. Â

The Larks opened up their season at home yesterday as
Dane Milburn (So. Lincoln, Neb.) took the mound and went three innings and gave up three earned runs. Hesston trailed 4-0 going into the bottom of the fourth inning, and that is when the Larks bats came alive.
Sean Maple (Fr. South Australia, Australia) knocked a single and scored
Ryusei Hando (So. Hyogo, JPN.) to put the Larks on board making it 4-1.Â
Kansuke Okada (Fr. Osaka, JPN.) in his first career game with the Larks gets his first career hit as he smashed a 2-run single to bring the score to 4-3. In the bottom of the fifth the Larks
Sean Maple added another huge hit as he smashed an RBI double to left-center as the Larks took the lead 5-4. They couldn't be stopped the rest of the game as they would add six more unanswered runs to secure their first win of the season 11-5.Â
Edgar Vera (Fr. Carolina, PR) notched his first career win with one inning in relief, giving up no hits and striking out one.
What's Next?
The Larks will prepare for their first road trip of the season as they will head to Dallas, Texas and face off with Mountain View College in two double headers on February 7 & 8. Â
