The Larks tried to upset the #4 NOC- Tonkawa yesterday afternoon at Oswald field, but would end up falling in both games.  These loses bring the Larks record to 6-7 on the season and they have now lost four games in a row.  


Game 1 Recap

In game 1, NOC got on the board first as they scored on a wild pitch in the top of the first inning to go up 1-0.  Their lead didn't last long as the Larks put up a run in the first to tie it up at 1-1 after Kauy Kuhn (Fr. Cheney, Kan.) ripped an RBI double to left center.  In the bottom of the second inning, the Larks took a 2-1 lead after Caden Bartlett drove in an RBI with a push bunt that went past the second baseman.  The Mavs would tie the game up in the top of the third, and took the lead in the fifth after they hit a homerun.  In the bottom of the fifth the Larks tied the game at 3-3 after Kansuke Okada (Fr. Osaka, JPN) drove in a run with an RBI single.  In the top of the seventh the Mavs added two more runs to take the 6-3 victory.  Dalton Woody (So. Cibolo, Texas) would get the start on the mound for the Larks as he went three innings giving up 2 earned runs.  


Game 2 Recap

In Game 2, the Mavs held control at the start of the game, and didn't let up as they beat the Larks 18-1.  The Larks were only able to get three hits in this game, as Natty Solomon (So.  Harrisonburg, VA) drove in their only run with an RBI single.  Trevor Crumedy (Fr.  Richland, MS) added a hit as well for the Larks.  Quinn Goettel (So. Joplin, MO) got the start for the Larks as he went 2.2 innings, giving up eight earned runs and taking the loss.


What's Next?

The Larks will travel for a tournament in Harrison, Ark. on Friday and Saturday.  They will play a doubleheader on both days.
