Softball Sweeps Bethel JV

Hesston, KS -

The Larks faced off with Bethel JV last night at Bess Mullet Field, and they took both games of the doubleheader.  With these wins they now sit at .500 overall and are 7-7 on the season.


Game 1 Recap

The Larks took game 1 easily after they put up 11 runs in the third and fourth innings combined, they would take the game by a score of 12-3.  The fans saw great performances by Anyssa Aguilar (So. Hacienda Heights, Calif.), Marissa Harrison (Fr. Mountain Park, Okla.), and Bailey Hollinger (So. Lyon, Kan.).  Anyssa went 3-3 with 2 RBI's as all three of her hits were singles.  Marissa had another big game as she went 3-3 with 4 RBI's, she had a huge double and a huge home run!  Bailey had a great game as she went 1-3, and hit a 3-run home run in the bottom of the fourth inning.  Amy Bretado (So. Whittier, Calif.) got the start in the circle for the Larks as she went a complete game and secured the victory. 


Game 2 Recap 

In game 2 the Larks saw themselves go down 4-1 going into the bottom of the third inning, but they wouldn't let being down last long as they scored 7 unanswered runs through the final four innings as they took the game 8-4.  Marissa Harrison had another great game as she went 2-4 with 2 RBI's and another huge double.  Jessie Miranda (So. Turlock, Calif.) went 4-4 with 4 singles and 4 runs scored, she also had 2 steals in the game.  Amy Bretado would get the win for the Larks as she relived starter Danyse Cantu (Fr. Sonora, Texas) in the second inning.  


What's Next?

The Larks will travel down to Texas to face of with North Central Texas College for a four game series beginning with a doubleheader on Saturday, and a doubleheader on Sunday.
