The Larks opened their 2021 spring season up on Friday afternoon inside Yost Center for the Hesston Triangular.  They dropped both matches on the day, the first one to Southeast CC by a score of 3-0 (15-25, 13-25, 15-25) and the second match to Barton CC by a score of 3-0 (7-25, 10-25, 14-25).  The Larks now start the season 0-2 as they now begin to prepare to begin conference play.  


Hesston vs. SCC Highlights

Hesston dropped their first match of the season to SCC, bringing them to 0-1 on the season.  Tannah Tilley (So. Derby, Kansas) led the team with 7 kills, and she also finished with 1 ace, which was tied for highest on the team.  Karis Davis (Fr. McKinney, Texas) led the Larks in the blocks category as she recorded 2.  McKayla Long (Fr. Highland, California) made her Larks debut on Friday night, and she went on to lead the team in digs as she recorded 17.  Alexis Zehr (Fr. Burrton, Kansas) also making her Larks debut recorded a team high 11 assists.  


Hesston vs. Barton Highlights

Hesston looked for their first win of the season as they went up against Barton, but was unable to achieve it as they dropped the match 3-0.  Olivia Galbraith (So. Millersburg, Ohio) led the Larks in kills as she finsihed with 5.  McKayla Long and Alexis Zehr both recorded a service ace, which were the only two the Larks recorded in the match.  Sierra Campos (Fr. Wichita, Kansas) and Karis Davis both recorded a block in the match, to finish tied for the team high in the match.  The Larks weren't able to get much going on the night, as they dropped to 0-2 on the season. 


What's Next

The Larks will begin to prepare for conference play, as they will travel to Neosho County CC on January 28, at 6:30 PM.  They will look for their first win of the season and look to begin conference play with a win!
