Women's Basketball Set to Host Sterling JV

Hesston, KS -


The Larks will look for their first win of the season as they face off with Sterling College JV tonight at 5:00 PM inside Yost Center.  They are sitting at 0-1 on the season, and will look to give interim head coach, Michael Smalley his first career win.  The game will be live streamed here.  


ABOUT THE LARKS 

Hesston is led in scoring by Destiny Kessay (So. McNary, Ariz.) as she is averaging 9.0 PPG, Sydney Bontrager (So. Milford, Neb.) will look to continue her dominance on the boards as she is averaging 19.0 RPG.  The Larks are averaging 36.0 PPG this season after dropping their first game this season versus Tabor JV.  


ABOUT THE WARRIORS

The Warriors are (6-2, 5-2) on the season and are coming off of a 61-47 win over the Kansas Wesleyan on January 20th.  This will be the first of two match-ups between the Larks and the Warriors this season.  Sterling is coached by Maritza Chavez who is in her 2nd season as the Warriors JV coach.


MATCHUP HISTORY

The Larks and Warriors split their season series last season, as Hesston won their game on a buzzer beater three by a score 78-76.  Hesston leads the overall series 7-2, and are 4-2 versus the Warriors inside Yost Center.
