Women's Basketball Looks to Get Back on Track

Hesston, KS -


The Larks are set to host Bethel College JV tonight inside Yost Center at 5:00 PM.  They will look to get back on track after falling in their two previous games, both versus Friends JV.  


PREVIOUS GAME

The Larks faced off with Friends JV on the road last Saturday, where they fell by a score of 63-48.  They saw a career high in points by Kirah Stepps (Fr. Wichita, Kan.) as she had 17 on 5-9 shooting from three point range.  Sydney Bontrager (So. Milford, Neb.) added her fourth consecutive 10+ rebound game as she secured 16 rebounds on the afternoon.


ABOUT THE LARKS 

Hesston currently sits at 1-3 on the season and will look to add a win after losing their pervious two games.  They are led in points per game by Kirah Stepps with 11.3, and Sydney Bontrager leads them in rebounds with 16.5 rpg.  Hesston is averaging 42.8 PPG, 34.8 RPG, 8.0 APG, and is shooting 32.6% from field goal range.  


ABOUT THE THRESHERS

Bethel is currently 4-8 on the season and is currently on a five game losing streak.  The Threshers are coached by Kelsey Potter who is in her second season as the head of the JV squad.  


MATCHUP HISTORY

The Larks are 5-3 all-time versus the Threshers, dating back to the 2011 season.  Bethel has won the last two games between the two teams, they defeated the Larks last season 65-61 inside Yost Center.
