Women's Basketball Travels to Sterling

The Larks will look to win consecutive games on the second game of a back-to-back as they travel to Sterling College to face off with the Warriors this afternoon at 3:30 PM. 


PREVIOUS GAME 

The Larks defeated the Threshers 40-38 last night on a game winner by Kirah Stepps with 6 seconds on the clock.  Destiny Kessay led all scores with 17 points and 7 steals.  Sydney Bontrager entered the top ten in school history for rebounds as she grabbed 11 rebounds and finished with 12 points as well.  


ABOUT THE LARKS

Hesston is currently 2-3 on the season and will look to get back to .500 overall with a win this afternoon.  Kirah Stepps and Destiny Kessay are tied for leading the team in points per game as both are averaging 10.8.  Sydney Bontrager leads the Larks in rebounds per game with 15.4, she is also ranked first in the nation in rebounds per game!


ABOUT THE WARRIORS

Sterling is currently (6-3, 5-2) on the season and are coming off a lose against the Larks in their most recent game back on Jan. 25.  The Warriors are coached by Maritza Chavez (2nd Season) and Tyler Thiessen (1st Season).  


MATCHUP HISTORY

The Larks are 8-2 all-time versus the Warriors dating back to the 2014 season, they are coming off of a win back in January versus the Warriors as they won 46-38.  Hesston has won the past two games in this matchup.
