The Larks traveled to Sterling, Kansas to face off with the Warriors for the second time this season, and they were able to come out on top as they took the game 49-47.  


Hesston opened the game up by scoring first when Destiny Kessay (So. McNary, Ari.) made a layup to put the Larks up early 2-0.  Aydan Everett (Fr. Clovis, NM) would go on to drain a three pointer their next possession as they went ahead 5-4.  Sydney Bontrager (So. Milford, Neb.) would hit a last second shot to end the first quarter as the Larks and Warriors would be tied 12-12 going into the second quarter.  Both teams would go back and forth the entire second quarter as the Larks would go into the half leading 22-19.  With 3:54 left in the third quarter, Star Her Many Horses (Fr. Lawrence, Kan.) would hit a three pointer to put the Larks up 32-28.  Kirah Stepps (Fr. Wichita, Kan.) would hit a deep three pointer with 1:07 left in the third quarter, as they would extend their lead to 37-32.  The fourth quarter went down to the wire as both teams continued to trade baskets.  Kirah Stepps came up big for the second day in a row, as she had a deja vu moment when she drove in for a made layup to give the Larks the lead with seconds remaining.  They would go on to win a close battle by a score of 49-47, this win brings the Larks overall recorded to 3-3 on the season.  

Destiny Kessay led the Larks in scoring with 15 points and she added 5 steals as well.  Sydney Bontrager recorded her sixth consecutive game of 10+ rebounds, as she finished with 11.  


The Larks will be back in action on Wednesday, February 10 inside Yost Center versus MACU beginning at 5:00 PM.  Fans will FINALLY be allowed to attend this event!
