Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Flowers Leads Larks to Victory

Hesston, KS -

The Larks hosted the Tigers of Central Christian College yesterday afternoon inside Yost Center where they would dominate as they defeated the Tigers 81-61.  This was the Larks largest point margin victory this season.

Hesston and Central Christian played much of the first half by trading baskets as each team would never take much of a big lead.  With 9:27 left in the first half the Larks would extend their lead to 6 points (22-16) as Langston Flowers (So. Dallas, Texas) sank two free throws.  Hesston would keep their foot on the gas pedal as they finished the first half leading by 19 points by a score of 42-23.  With 16:25 left in the game the Larks saw their lead grow to 25 points as they led 54-29 after a Jerome Jackson (So. Kansas City, Mo.) layup.  The Larks would go up by 28 points, their biggest lead of the season (65-37) after Elijah Smith (Rs. Fr. Kansas City, Mo.) drained a deep three pointer.  The Tigers would try to make a dent in the Larks lead, but were unsuccessful as the Larks would go on to take the game 81-61.

This win moves the Larks overall record to 3-2 on the season and pushes their win streak to 2 in a row.  They will look to extend that streak tomorrow night as they take on Sterling College JV inside Yost Center beginning at 7:00 PM.

Langston Flowers led the Larks in points as he finished with 19 points in just 20 minutes played off the bench.  Elijah Smith had another great game as he finished with 16 points, 9 boards, and 5 assists.  Ethan Hildebrand (Fr. Stafford, Kan.) recorded another double-double as he had 16 points and 12 boards.
