Hesston, KS -
The Larks hosted Northwest Kansas Technical College yesterday afternoon on Sophomore Day, and the Larks were able to come away with the DH sweep after winning 11-6 & 14-10. Â These wins extend their win streak to four games, and they will look to add two more today in their DH with Dodge City CC beginning at 1:00 PM at The Bess. Â Â
Game 1Â
In game one, the Larks began the game scoring early as they put up 10 runs in the first three innings and took the 10-1 lead going into the fourth inning. Â The Larks would go on to put up one more run in the bottom half of the fourth, as they led 11-2. Â That would be the end of the scoring for the Larks, as NKTCÂ tried to fight back, but the Larks put them away and took the 11-6 victory. Â
Teri Stanton got the start in the circle for the Larks, she would end up going 5.0 innings while giving up 0 walks and struck out 7 on the afternoon. Â
Emily DeMartino would throw 1 inning in the circle for the Larks as she would face just one hitter, as the Larks turned a triple play to end the top of the sixth.  The Larks saw a big performance by
Kimberlin Hopson as she went 2-3 with 2 RBI and a triple,
Jessie Miranda would also add a triple for her only hit of the game. Â
Marissa Harrison also had a good game offensively as she went 2-4 with 2 RBI and a double!
Game 2
In game two, fans were able to see a lot of runs score between both teams as the Larks would end up taking the game by a score of 14-10. Â This game saw
Jessie Miranda have a career performance as she went 5-5 with 2 doubles, an RBI, and 6 stolen bases. Â Jessie also took over the top spot for all-time career hits leader in Hesston Softball history! Â Madison Rosales had another big performance as she went 4-5, with a double and 4 RBI in the game. Â
Alexis Silvey continued her dominate season as she went 3-4 with 2 RBI and had 3 stolen bases. Â
Emily DeMartino would get the start in the circle for the Larks as she went 4 innings and gave up 6 runs while striking out 1 hitter. Â
Natalie Fischer came in for relief and was able to secure the victory as she went 3 innings while giving up 3 runs. Â
