The Larks faced off with Highland CC last night in their regular season finale, and they were able to come away with a convincing win over the Scotties as they won 58-44. Â Hesston ends their regular season holding a (5-13, 1-9) record as they will begin the first round of KJCCC play on Monday evening versus Labette CC. Â
The Larks led the entire game against the Scotties, and even led by as many as 17 points! Â They came out on fire in the first quarter as they shot 54.% from the field and 50% from three point range. Â Hesston kept their foot on the gas all game, as they took the win by 14 points, and saw big performances by the entire team. Â
Sydney Bontrager finished the game with 24 points and 12 rebounds for another double-double, while shooting 9-12 from the field. Â Sydney also became the Hesston Women's Basketball All-Time Rebound Leader for her career as she now has 551. Â
Destiny Kessay had a game to remember in her final home game wearing a Larks uniform as she nearly achieved a triple-double as she finished with 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists. Â
Aydan Everett had another big game as she finished with 10 points and went 100% from three point range, as she gave the Larks more momentum with her made baskets. Â
Porclein Unruh scored her first basket this season on a fast break layup that was assisted by
Myley George!Â
Hesston will now prepare to take on Labette CC on Monday, April 5 in Parsons, Kansas. Â We will provide more details soon as they come to us. Â
