Women's Basketball Finishes Season Strong

Hesston, KS -

The Larks faced off with Highland CC last night in their regular season finale, and they were able to come away with a convincing win over the Scotties as they won 58-44.  Hesston ends their regular season holding a (5-13, 1-9) record as they will begin the first round of KJCCC play on Monday evening versus Labette CC.

The Larks led the entire game against the Scotties, and even led by as many as 17 points!  They came out on fire in the first quarter as they shot 54.% from the field and 50% from three point range.  Hesston kept their foot on the gas all game, as they took the win by 14 points, and saw big performances by the entire team.  Sydney Bontrager finished the game with 24 points and 12 rebounds for another double-double, while shooting 9-12 from the field.  Sydney also became the Hesston Women's Basketball All-Time Rebound Leader for her career as she now has 551.  Destiny Kessay had a game to remember in her final home game wearing a Larks uniform as she nearly achieved a triple-double as she finished with 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists.  Aydan Everett had another big game as she finished with 10 points and went 100% from three point range, as she gave the Larks more momentum with her made baskets.  Porclein Unruh scored her first basket this season on a fast break layup that was assisted by Myley George!

Hesston will now prepare to take on Labette CC on Monday, April 5 in Parsons, Kansas.  We will provide more details soon as they come to us.
