Hesston, Kan. -  Sophomore Day did not prove fruitful for the Larks as they fell 5-2 on Saturday to Central Community College. Hesston did have two goal scorers on the day;  freshman Sakuya Futakuchi in the 22nd minute for his fourth goal of the year. Sophomore Gen Takahashi knocked in his 11th goal of the year in the 42nd minute to tie the match at two going into halftime. The Raiders had a powerful second half which included three goals by Jaime Zani. He had four goals total for Central in their 5-2 win over Hesston. Freshman goalie Luis Jimenez for the Larks continued his high level of play by stopping 16 shots putting him in second place overall in the nation at the NJCAA level. The loss puts Hesston at a (2-4-2) record all-time versus the Central CC Raiders. They will be back on the pitch Wednesday Oct 18th AT Neosho County.  

 

Turning Point

The second half was all raiders as they scored three goals between the 57th and 72nd minutes. This 5-2 lead was enough to seal the win for Central.
