Hesston, Kan. -Ā The Hesston College Larks women's soccer team gave the Cavaliers a handful on Saturday afternoon. Kira Kumada started the scoring off giving Hesston a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute. That was her 21st goal on the year ranking second overall in the nation. JCCC immediately tied it up in the 20th minute with a goal by Alandra Bailey, who had one goal and one assist on the day. The score held through halftime 1-1. The first offensive push by Johnson of the second half, ended in a score by Jenna Knight. She was able to add a second in the 54th minute to go up 3-1. Hesston ended up falling 4-1. One bright spot on the day was Freshman Ashleigh Williams had 20 saves. The series between these two teams after today is seven wins for JCCC and zero for Hesston. The Larks will look to change that next season as the Cavaliers are an annual home and away opponent moving forward.Ā
