Hesston, Kan. - The Hesston Larks won the opening game of the inaugural season for Flag Football 39-6 over the Fort Scott Greyhounds. The Larks looked like a team in midseason form, combining for six touchdowns and providing stifling defense holding the Greyhounds to only one score. In game two, the Larks went up against the first ranked Florida Gateway Timberwolves and held it to a one score contest after the first quarter. The Timberwolves were able to pull ahead in the second half winning 50-6 thanks to a full roster of Floridians who have experience playing together dating back to high school. This will be a team that Larks will face again in the National Tournament at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA in May. The Last game of the weekend was against the Pratt Beavers who the Larks took care of quickly 66-6. Hesston had learned from their loss on Friday evening and the offense took another step forward. This will give Hesston a 2-1 record going into next weekend's triangular at Fort Scott.
The Hesston College Roster is made up of representation by seven states and several multi-sport athletes including three basketball players, one soccer and basketball player, one volleyball and basketball player, one soccer only player and one volleyball player.
Turning Point
In two wins this weekend the Larks only gave up a combined 2 touchdowns.
