Hesston, Kan. - Hesston College Flag Football won a two overtime thriller on Tuesday evening 32-31 over the Fort Scott Greyhounds. Freshman Quarterback Kaley Phillips went 18/33 passing, throwing two touchdowns and rushing for two more. Freshman Zahleah Beaubrun caught one of those touchdowns while Freshman Kalia Baker had the other. The Larks defense caused four interceptions and had multiple sacks.

Fort Scott had an opportunity to win the game in regulation on the last play at the two yard line. The Larks defense stood strong grabbing the flag as the Greyhound QB stretched out just short of the goal line. The first overtime ended with both teams coming up with defensive stops. Overtime number two started with a Hesston College touchdown and one point conversion to go up seven. Fort Scott scored on their first play but could not convert their attempt at a two point conversion as the ball sailed over the receivers hands for a Hesston College Victory. This improves the Larks to a 6-3 record on the year. They will be playing the Greyhounds again on Thursday April 27th in Fort Scott Kansas.
