The Hesston College Athletic Department is proud to announce the 2022-23 Lark Athletes of the Year.

Female: Loribeth Miller - Women's Basketball 

    Loribeth Miller was a two year starter for the Hesston Larks Women's Basketball Team and named the 2023 season MVP. She averaged 9.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. Loribeth finishes her career in second place all time for 3-pointers made. Miller was active on campus assisting with campus ministry groups and in student resident life. She was also asked to speak on behalf of all 2023 campus graduates at this year's commencement. Next year Loribeth will be attending Northeastern State University.

Male: David Duncan - Men's Basketball

    David Duncan, was a two year starter for the Hesston Larks Men's Basketball Team and is a finalist for the Greater Wichita Sports Player of the Year Award. This year at Hesston College, David had per game averages of 18.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 5.1 assists on 55% shooting from the field. His best game of the season came against Neosho County Community College on January 14th, where Duncan had a season high of 27 points and nine steals to go along with eight rebounds and four assists. His contribution led the Larks to their ninth victory of the season. He will attend Emporia State University in the Fall and will be a member of the basketball team, majoring in Business.

Male: Sam Wiese - Baseball

    Sam Wiese, was a two year starter for the Hesston Larks Baseball Team and helped lead them to the most wins in program history with 31. Sam led the Larks with a batting average of .391 and hitting 12 home runs to go along with 43 runs batted in. He is in the top ten all time in at bats (5th), runs scored (T 3rd), hits (3rd), doubles (2nd), home runs (1st), and runs batted in (4th). Next season Sam will be attending Eastern Illinois as a part of the Baseball Team.
