FORT SCOTT, Kan. – The Hesston College volleyball team fell to Fort Scott Community College on October 2. Fort Scott won the match 3-1 with set scores of 25-19, 24-26, 25-20, and 25-22.
Hesston College battled hard, particularly in the second set, where they emerged victorious with a 26-24 score line. Despite strong performances by players like Laura Rojas, who contributed 11 kills and 8 digs, and Anna Franco, who recorded 8 kills with a .294 hitting percentage, the Larks couldn't overcome Fort Scott's consistent play. Audrey Garrison also made an impact with 30 assists, while Brittany Cato led the defensive efforts with 18 digs.
Fort Scott edged out Hesston with strong team efforts across the board, especially in attack, tallying 45 kills to Hesston's 41. The match was tightly contested in all four sets, with both teams showing resilience, but Fort Scott managed to close out the crucial points, particularly in the final set, winning 25-22.
