In their season opener on November 1, the Hesston College Larks women's basketball team faced a challenging matchup against Murray State College, ultimately falling 102-36. Despite the final score, the Larks showcased several bright spots worth highlighting.

Hesston's strength on the boards was a standout, with the team securing an impressive 52 total rebounds, including 40 defensive boards. Anna Mcintire led the effort with eight rebounds, while Auniyeuh Matlock contributed nine, demonstrating solid interior presence.

The Larks' defensive hustle was evident as well, as they recorded six steals, disrupting Murray State's flow at key moments. Hanah Debelle played a crucial role, owning three of those steals.

On the offensive end, the Larks capitalized on trips to the free-throw line, converting 20 of 32 attempts. Mariah Hall led the way in drawing fouls and contributed 9 points from the line, showcasing her ability to get to the rim and earn points.
