HESSTON, Kan. – The Hesston College men's basketball team defeated the Kansas Wesleyan University JV 84-73 on Monday (November 25). Hesston displayed a dominant first half, leading 49-32 at halftime, and maintained their edge through strategic plays and strong defense.
Key contributors for Hesston included Jammial Hicks, who led the team with 20 points and added eight rebounds and four assists. Terryon Stebbins recorded a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds, while Trent Thompson scored 16 points and pulled down nine boards. Hesston's bench also contributed significantly, scoring 28 points in total.
Defensively, the Larks' nine blocks and nine steals disrupted the Coyotes' offensive rhythm. The Larks capitalized on second-chance opportunities, out-rebounding their opponents 62-41 and scoring 20 points on second-chance plays.
The Larks will be back on their home court on Tuesday (December 3) as they host Southwestern College. The JV will play at 5:30 p.m. followed by the varsity at 7:30 p.m. at Yost Center.
