HESSTON, Kan. - The Hesston College women's basketball team faced a challenging matchup against Southeast Community College on Saturday (December 14). Despite a strong fourth-quarter push, the Larks fell short with a final score of 71-52.
Hesston struggled to find their rhythm offensively, shooting 26.2% from the field, while Southeast capitalized on second-chance opportunities and maintained consistent scoring across all quarters. Mariah Hall led Hesston with 13 points and 6 rebounds, showing versatility in the paint and at the free-throw line. Akiva Brown also contributed with 11 points and four steals.
The Larks demonstrated resilience in the final quarter, outscoring Southeast 17-15, but were unable to overcome an early deficit.
The Larks will take a break for the holidays before hitting the court once again on January 8 to host McPherson College at 3 p.m.
