Hesston, Kan -Ā The Hesston Larks split a doubleheader with the Northern Oklahoma-Enid Jets on Monday afternoon to improve to 3-4 overall on the season. This brings the all-time record to 3-4 for Hesston against the Jets.Ā

Game 1: Sophomore Emma Killingsworth now with a 2-2 record went the distance pitching seven innings. She only gave up three earned runs on nine hits.Ā

Freshman Shailynn Heinrichs hit her first collegiate home run and led the Larks with two runs batted in. The base paths were open as sophomore Lauren Payne stole two bases while also getting a hit and scoring a run. She is hitting .333 avg on the year through four games.

Game 2: The Jets offense cruised in this one with 14 hits and four doubles, led by Thompson who had four runs batted in. The Larks had their second home run of the day, this time by freshman Mimi Castillo also her first in college.. Hesston was plagued by the error bug as the defense combined for nine errors in game two.Ā

Hesston will be back at home this coming weekend March 2nd and 3rd as the college has their spring community day, and will host Northeast Community College (0-4).Ā
