Hesston, Kan -Ā Spring Break is scheduled to be full of baseball for the Hesston Larks as they continue a two week long home stand this weekend against the Marshalltown Community College Tigers out of Iowa.

Game 1: Hesston dropped the first game of Sunday 9-1 in seven innings.Ā
Ā
Sophomore Carlos Roman hit his 2nd home run of the season, a solo shot for the lone Larks run in the game.Ā
Ā
Starting pitcher freshman Dylan Rich for the Larks went 4.1 innings, giving up four runs while striking out two.
Ā
For the Tigers,Ā starter Mason Adkins threw a complete game and gave up one run on three hits. Magdic and Marker had three RBI's each.
Game 2:Ā Sophomore Conner Bear started for the Larks coming into the game with seven strikeouts in 11.1 innings pitched. He was able to go 2.1 innings giving up four runs.Ā

Ā The Tigers were able to load the bases in the first innings but Bear and the defense held them to one run scored. The Larks tied it up in the bottom half of the inning thanks to great baserunning (double steal).Ā

In the third inning the Tigers had two on base and no outs. Two runs scored on a throwing error by the third baseman to make it 3-1 Marshalltown. After a passed ball and a Brett Johnson one run double the Tigers grew their lead to 5-1. The inning finished after a throwing error by the Larks infield 6-1 Tigers.Ā

Larks' Carlos Roman led off the fourth inning with a double, and ended with a throw out at third to keep the game 6-2 Tigers. He followed that with an RBI double in the bottom of the sixth to inch closer for the Larks to 6-3.Ā

Sophomore Jarod Fugate slowed down the Tigers offense putting up four consecutive scoreless innings in relief along with picking off a runner at first in the seventh inning.Ā

The Tigers added two insurance runs in the top of the eighth from a one out single and wild pitch to make it 8-3.Ā
Ā
The all-time series between these two schools ends Sunday at 2-0 in favor of Marshalltown.Ā

Hesston will continue their spring break as they will host next week:
