Hesston, Kan-Ā Hesston came back home after their week day trip to Cowley for a weekend matchup with the Labette Cardinals. The bats were shut out on Saturday and outscored 13-0 on the day. The Larks are now 1-5 in conference play and will play the fifth place Blue Devils on Thursday at KCK. Below are the highlights of both games.Ā

Game 1: The Larks had three hits, one from Sydney Jackson, Shailynn Heinrichs, and Shaylee Keslar. Sophomore Emma Killingsworth pitched five innings and struck out four batters. The Cardinals put together six hits with two of those coming from K. Facklam. The leading RBI producer was K. Kaahu with three. The Cardinals had four doubles in the game.Ā

Game 2: Hesston again had three hits this time by: Carly Lee, Mimi Castillo, and Madison Gonzales. Sydney Jackson pitched her 10th complete game of the season striking out three. The Larks gave the Cardinals a plentiful amount of free bases by way of nine errors in the field. Freshman Shailynn Heinrichs did lead the team with two walks at the plate.Ā

The Cardinals had six hits again led by E. Slaughter with two. J. McDannald pitched a complete game, walking five and striking out two.

The all-time series between these two is now 10-2 in favor of the Cardinals.Ā Ā
