TOPEKA, Kan. – The Hesston College track team kicked off their indoor season on Friday (Jan. 17) at the Rust Buster held by Washburn University. The field of competitors consisted of athletes from NCAA DII, NAIA and NJCAA schools.
Jaylon Hatcher recorded top-20 finishes in the 60-meter (17th) and 200-meter (19th) dashes, finishing with times of 6.99 and 22.09 seconds respectively. Among other NJCAA runners he finished seventh in the 60m and fifth in the 200m.
Michele Lewis won her heat in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.02 seconds. She finished 18th out of 30 in the race while running the fastest time among other NJCAA competitors.
The Larks will be back in action on Saturday (Jan. 25) at the NAIA/JUCO Challenge hosted by Pittsburg State University.
