HESSTON, Kan. — The Hesston College men's soccer team earned a convincing 3–0 win over Barclay College on Tuesday night at home, controlling the match from start to finish and securing its 11th victory of the season. The Larks struck early and maintained pressure throughout, outshooting the Bears 17–12 and recording their seventh shutout of the year behind strong defensive play and a steady performance in goal from Harry Morris, who finished with five saves.
Hesston opened the scoring just five minutes into the match when Jaiden Fox Trevelyan finished a chance created by Yura Yamazaki, who provided the assist after a sequence of early attacking pressure. The Larks extended the lead in the 18th minute as Kenji Taira converted from the center of the box off a setup from Saul Pineda, with Yamazaki adding his second assist on the play.
In the second half, Hesston continued to control possession and tempo. Taira struck again in the 73rd minute, placing a composed finish after another perfectly delivered ball from Yamazaki — his third assist of the night — to put the match out of reach. Taira led all scorers with two goals, while Trevelyan added the opening tally. Yamazaki's three assists marked one of his strongest playmaking performances of the season.
Barclay managed 12 total shots, but Morris and the back line held firm to preserve the clean sheet. Hesston also generated six corner kicks and dictated much of the match in midfield and attacking spaces.
