CHANUTE, Kan. - The Hesston College cross country team made a strong showing at the Neosho County XC Invite on Friday (Oct. 3). The men's team finished third out of six teams while placing first among NAIA teams. Arissa Cathey, Jonah Krumme and Ethan Thompson finished in the top-20 In their respective races.
Cathey finished seventh out of 31 runners, third among NAIA runners, in the women's 5k race with a time of 21:50.44, setting a PR by more than two minutes. Maddy Ralph finished 23rd with a time of 24:17.41.
Krumme finished ninth out of a field of 60 runners, fourth out of NAIA competitiors, in the men's 8k with a time of 28:42.53, a PR by over a minute. Thompson finished 20th with a time of 30:22.64 beating his previous mark by nearly a minute. Nathan Lewis was right behind Thompson finishing 21st with a time of 30:42.16, setting a PR by 30 seconds.
The Larks will close out the regular season at the Golden Eagle XC Invite hosted by John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Ark. on Saturday (Oct. 11) starting at 8:00 a.m.
