Larks Wrap Up Two-Game Road Trip in Texas

The Hesston College women's basketball team traveled to Waxahachie, Texas for a two-game road trip, facing Nelson University on Friday, Oct. 31, and Southwestern Christian University on Saturday, Nov. 1.

Game 1: Nelson 94, Hesston 38

The Hesston College women's basketball team fell to Nelson University, 94–38, on Friday in Texas. Brooke Bettis led the Larks with 8 points, including two threes. Akiva Brown added 6 points and 8 rebounds. Keira Pineda scored 5 points and recorded 2 steals, while Anna McIntire and Mia Curtis each finished with 4 points.

Off the bench, Emma Pfannenstiel hit a three and Sarah Beltran contributed 3 rebounds and 2 assists. Mariah Hall added 3 rebounds and went 2-for-6 at the line. Hesston totaled 15 bench points and collected 6 steals in the game.

Game 2: Southwestern Christian 89, Hesston 47

Hesston College fell to Southwestern Christian University, 89–47, on Saturday. Brooke Bettis led the Larks with 17 points, hitting three threes and going 4-for-4 at the line. Akiva Brown added 7 points and 4 rebounds, while Keira Pineda finished with 4 points and 4 rebounds.

Anna McIntire scored 3 points and grabbed 4 boards, and Mariah Hall contributed 3 points, 2 assists, and 2 rebounds. Off the bench, Emma Pfannenstiel added 3 points, and Hanah DeBelle knocked down a three and went 2-for-2 at the line for 5 points. The Larks made five three-pointers and shot 75% from the free throw line.

The Larks will host Oklahoma Panhandle State University on Tuesday (Nov. 4) at 5:30 PM.
