HESSTON, Kan. – The Hesston College men's basketball team secured a hard-fought 88-82 double-overtime victory over Fort Scott Community College on Saturday (Feb. 15).

Fort Scott came out strong, building a commanding 32-20 lead after the first half. Hesston responded in the second half, outscoring Fort Scott 40-28 to tie the game at halftime.

Trent Thompson dominated inside, recording a double-double with 27 points and 17 rebounds. Jammial Hicks contributed 21 points, while Terryon Stebbins added 14 points and 11 rebounds. Hesston's bench also provided a spark, accounting for 45 of the team's points.

Despite a slow start and trailing by as many as 24 points, Hesston's resilience and rebounding advantage (58-39) helped secure the win. Hesston shot 80.5% from the free-throw line, sinking 33 of 41 attempts, which proved crucial in the close contest.

The Larks will hit the road next week to take on Kansas City Kansas Community College on Wednesday (Feb. 19) at 7:30 p.m.
